Truth not Shared
A young boy stands along the wall at a dance scared to approach his crush to ask her for a dance.
He believes she should just recognize that he likes her without him ever saying anything to her.
A wife makes hints to her husband all throughout their marriage for the things she wishes would change in him without ever being bold enough to ask for a truthful conversation.
A man continually works hard in his profession to encourage his boss to see that his work should earn him a promotion but never shares his goals with his company.
A lifelong churchgoer longs for her neighbor to come to the understanding of the relationship she has with Jesus, her Lord and Savior.
How many of us believe that people should just know what we are thinking?
It takes a lot of patience for us to recognize that people are not telepathic.
They need to be taught just as we were taught.
God gives us a glimpse of this throughout each generation.
Once one generation begins to understand, another comes along who must learn as well.
Different perspectives along the way allow us to learn the depth of God’s word.
This means we must continually allow ourselves to be taught.
We must continually submit to the fact that we are always learning.
But I’m not a preacher!
Many of us have thought throughout our lives that someone else would pick up the burden of sharing the news with another.
It was the church’s responsibility to proclaim the truth to the world.
But, it is the misunderstanding of the word church that must be made clear.
Christ’s body is made up of the believers who are willing to share in His mission to proclaim the kingdom of God with the world.
We must learn how to speak the truth and be ready in all situations to help others understand what God wants us to share.
God desires everyone to know Him and to call on Him
The bible says that God is patient and He is desiring that all have the chance to know Him and to believe upon Him.
Paul takes this understanding and encourages us to see that we must be willing to share our belief with others.
This begins the journey for that person.
Romans 10:14-21
Previously, Paul tells the Romans they must call upon Jesus in order to be saved.
Who is Jesus to those who have never heard the truth of who He is.
In our culture today, proclaiming someone must believe in Jesus may be a confusing thought for them.
We have been talking about the understanding of sin, separation, redemption back to God.
Paul encourages us to reason there are those who may not have ever heard any of the information we would like to share with them.
We have believed everyone in America has had the chance to hear the gospel message.
This prevents us from sharing the truth with others and makes our involvement in reaching others for God’s kingdom limited to our own perspectives.
People must hear the truth in order to respond to it.
God is the one who sends us into the world.
We must pray for the boldness and understanding of where we are to be headed.
Paul recognized this when he shares that the Holy Spirit encouraged his journey.
Often we head out on our own path without ever asking God where we should be headed.
How many of you in your lives have believed you understood what your spouse or friend asked of you and headed out in the wrong direction?
If we do not ask for clarity in where we should be going we may be fruitless in our experience because we are stepping out of line with the Holy Spirit.
Sometimes we must regroup, shake the dust off of our sandals and return home to receive new direction.
Not all people we share the good news of who Jesus Christ is will respond the way we want them to immediately.
It is up to God to change the hearts of those people.
When we become frustrated or angry because someone does not respond in the limited ways we understand they should respond replaces the responsibility from God to us.
There will be people who do not respond to your sharing of the word.
Pray for them.
God opens their hearts and has us move on.
Repetition is the mother of all learning.
This, an ancient saying remains true.
However, we must understand that some have not always heard the word of Christ.
They have heard the word of science, they have heard the word of logic, they have heard many other words except for Christ.
If they have only received the repetitive knowledge that does not include Christ as the foundation, we must pray they begin to understand that truth only lies upon Christ.
God ensures His word does not return void Isa.
55:11
Any of us who withhold the knowledge of God without sharing it with the world may come to recognize there are others who receive the mercy, kindness, and restoration into God’s will without our aid.
When we become obstinate and hold our truths to ourselves we only limit ourselves in our spiritual growth.
God accomplishes what He wants to accomplish with or without our help.
Our jealousy by witnessing others receive the same blessings should encourage us to repentance and we should search our hearts for where we have faltered.
Isaiah knew that God’s power surpasses all earthly power.
His word is so true and so powerful that those who were never sought out are capable of recognizing the truth of who God is.
Perhaps it is because a bible they picked up in a hotel room encouraged them.
Perhaps it is a song they turned to on the radio.
Perhaps it is the kindness and the manner in which a Christian friend helped them through a struggle.
We manifest the truth in many ways but it is through our faith that we believe and our belief is witnessed by others.
God is too big for our limiting Him.
He will be evident to whomever He desires.
It is too easy for us to fall into becoming disobedient and obstinate just like ancient Israel if we fail to submit and obey what God wants for us.
Our mission is simple, to share the truth of Christ with the world.
We must believe that truth first for ourselves and stop disbelieving God when He says He will accomplish His will.
God Desires us to Look for Opportunities to Share
We must learn the truth fully if we are to share the truth with others.
In order to see the many perspectives of the world, we must align ourselves with God who sees all.
Only through this will we learn how to reach all people through our sharing the knowledge of Christ with them.
Our obstinance must yield to humility.
Our pride must fall and we must rely on God to direct us where He wants us to go.
We are all proclaimers of the word of Christ
When the world recognizes your profession of belief, all else that follows tells the world of your belief.
How you run your business speaks of your belief.
How you treat others speaks of that belief.
How you speak to the world proclaims your belief.
Make sure you don’t make the opportunity for others to understand Christ cloudy and confusing by the way you carry out your faith.
