“The Lord is one.”

Had plenty of points to speak to
Atheist
Agnostics
Pagan beliefs
All are true and important.
But I was missing the point.
“THE LORD YOUR GOD”
used in overwhelming majority throughout this book.
Moses was giving them the law
But first He reminded them of the relationship.
Established this personal connection to God. (nice but why is it important)
Our interactions with God are not TRANSACTIONAL they are RELATIONAL
Transactional -
I do certain things for the “sun god”
because I want good crops
I do certain things for the “god of fertility”
I want abundant offspring
I do certain things for the “god of war”
because I want success in battle.
This is all transactional and it’s really ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!
Relational -
prosperity, abundance, success
God loves me and will care for me.
I want to be good
Not because Good is better than Bad
Because God is good
the one who created me, loves me, blesses me … is good.
Established a personal connection to each other.
