3 While they are saying, “Peace and safety!” then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.

The Day of The Lord Will Come Like a Thief in The Night
*We are sons of light
*Alert and Sober - breast plate of faith and love, helmet of hope and salvation
*God has not destined us for wrath
These things describe how Jesus has changed us the new life He put within us
How he has made us to be different than the world
By maintaining our faith in Jesus Christ, walking out our faith, we are not destined for the wrath that will come
Paul then in 16 more verses gives and instruction for the church (the church to function and operate in the blessings and joy Jesus intended for His church)
