called them to live in light of that reality (Genesis 1:28, Exodus 19:4-6; 20:2)
1. As our awareness of sin increases, grace abounds all the more!
(Romans 5:20-21)

lives (Titus 2:11-14)

Deuteronomy 8:1-20); Deuteronomy 28:45-48)
III. A LOVING FATHER DISCIPLINES HIS BELOVED CHILDREN (HOSEA 2:9-13)
A. If we are children of the Living God (Hosea 1:10), then we can expect the
loving discipline of God (Deuteronomy 8:5; Hebrews 12:5-11)
1. Our discipline proves the legitimacy of our status as God's children
(Hebrews 12:5-8)
2. God's discipline is motivated by love and is an act of grace to train us in
righteousness (Hebrews 12:9-11)
B. The things Israel trusted in for their identity and meaning in life, will be
taken back (Hosea 2:9-12)
C. God will strip us bare in order to get our attention and return our focus back
on Him where it belongs (Hosea 2:13; Revelation 3:14:20)
