One of the things that happens when we feel overwhelmed is we forget just how big God really is.
I think we all go through situations in life that bring fear and possible doubt in us.
Right now we are all facing some fearful things.
Pandemic, inflation, health issues, raising children, etc, can all cause us to “go there”.
Today we’re going to look at an account in the Bible where they were faced with a fearful situation and how God took care of it.
The Battle is Real!
Faith doesn’t deny the facts!
Some people think that because we serve God everything should run smooth.
If we face battles, we must have done something wrong.
Faith is a fight!
In face we are told to fight the good fight of faith.
If we look at this account with King Jehosaphat, there was no reason for the people of Moab, Ammon, and the others to attack Judah.
In fact, when the Israelites came out of Egypt they did not attack these nations but went around them and didn’t destroy them.
And now these were the nations coming to destroy Judah.
Being under attack doesn’t mean we’ve done something wrong.
It does however mean that we have an enemy that doesn’t like God’s children.
When Faced with Battles Turn to God!
Jehosaphat had everyone, including children, fast and seek God.
Here’s what we all need to do when we are overwhelmed.
We need to seek God with all of our hearts and look to Him instead of looking at the problem.
We need to seek the One who can lead us into victory!
When we do that we can be sure that God will give us an answer to whatever we are facing.
When God gives us His plan, we need to follow it!
They were told to go out the next morning and not to worry because God would fight their battle.
So they got up and went out the morning to see God win the battle.
Here’s the other part, they put the singers in front to worship and praise God as they went to meet their enemy.
We need to always follow God and praise Him that He is fighting the battle for us.
When God causes the victory we must praise our Big God!
God not only gives us the victory but He also causes us to give Him the honor and glory that only He deserves.
If we were able to handle every single situation we are in, we wouldn’t need God.
But we are not able to come out victorious without Him.
So He gets all of our praise!
