We will meet many people in life that will connect us to what is important to them...

In the English language, we have conjunctions that connect different thoughts and ideas in our sentences.
A coordinating conjunction is a word that joins two elements of equal grammatical rank and syntactic importance. They can join two verbs, two nouns, two adjectives, two phrases, or two independent clauses. The seven coordinating conjunctions are for, and, nor, but, or, yet, and so. - Grammerly
In the same way, we can connect people to Jesus.

Be a Conjunction Person - connecting people to Jesus.

There are 5 different sets of people, connecting to what is important to them in this passage:
Everyone connects others to what is important to them:

Evil People. 12-17, 25

Proverbs 15:10 KJV 1900
Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: And he that hateth reproof shall die.
Are you around people who cheat and lie?
Are you a cheating liar?
When evil people are around, vulnerable people are mostly affected.
Impressionable people are also affected.
Evil leaders affect the others: Vs. 24.

Enlightened People. 18-21

Samuel = “Name of God.”
He Grew Physically. 21
He Grew Spiritually.
He Grew Relationally. 26
I wonder if Samuel is a “Type of Christ” in his childhood? Always doing His Father’s business. Consistently obedient, etc.
Luke 2:52 KJV 1900
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.
Ministered” = Minister, attend, serve. Present tense.

You may be an ambassador to England of France;

You may like to gamble, you might like to dance;

You may be the heavy-weight champion of the world;

You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls;

But you’re gonna have to serve somebody.

Yes indeed you’re gonna have to serve somebody.

Well it may be the devil or it may be the Lord but you’re gonna have to serve somebody.

Psalm 100:2 KJV 1900
Serve the Lord with gladness: Come before his presence with singing.

Indifferent People. 22-25, 29-34

Eli feels like he has tough choices to make: Sons or God. Sin or right.
His neglect of directing the tabernacle staff stating with his kids is an error.
He lets things “Slide.” Indifference is not something God likes.
Revelation 3:15 KJV 1900
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
To the church at Laodicia.
The last 4 weeks, we have not had the kitchen sink. When people talk take everything and the kitchen sink: it is to imply the importance of the kitchen sink. Cleaning dishes in the bathroom is just not what we are used to! I am not indifferent to a kitchen sink. My view of the kitchen sink is higher than it was when we had one before.

Anonymous People. 27

“A Man of God”
Ryrie Study Bible Expanded Edition: New American Standard Bible, 1995 Update (1 Chronicles 23)
man of God. I.e., one charged with a mission by God. Cf. Deut. 33:1; Josh. 14:6; Ps. 90 (title); 1 Tim. 6:11.
No credit needed here. We are not told his name.
Samuel is the LAST Judge and the First Prophet since the times of Moses.

A man called up the local armory to get a report on the number and status of the weapons and vehicles. A private answered the phone and said, “We’ve got 3 jeeps, 4 tanks, 500 rifles, and a ton of ammo. Oh, we also have two Cadillacs for the fat generals.”

Silence, then this response, “Private, do you know who I am?”

“No.”

“I’m General Westin.”

“General, do you know who I am?”

“No.”

“See you later, fatty.”

Being anonymous is OK!
Giving with no strings attached.
Helping with no recognition.
God knows who this person is.

Replacement People. 35

If you and I do not serve the Lord, He can have us replaced.
God always finds a person who is willing and can make them able.
The corrupt priests die. 4 generations later the last great grandson of Eli dies in a battle of King Saul and a new “House” comes to the priesthood.
Each of us connect others to something. Why not connect people to Jesus.
Remember seeing old film clips of early telephone operators plugging in lines to connect people to whom they were trying to reach?
Sometimes they would get the “Lines crossed”
Today's phones are so fast, but sometimes the lines get crossed, but its more rare. Digital and quick. Automatic.
Connecting people to Jesus is not automatic and its not fast. Sometimes it takes time and you must be deliberate.

Be a Conjunction Person - connecting people to Jesus.

D and A:

How can we not be influenced by Evil people?
What was different about Samuel?
Talk about the danger of indifference.
Why do most people want recognition?
