Genesis 2:1–3 (NKJV)
1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.
2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
What does it mean God rested.
We need to properly understand what it is meant by rest in the above passage.
It is not to mean that God was tired after working 6 days in creating the world that he needed rest and therefore he rested on the day 7
Go does not need rest like we do, that is.
He never tires nor is weary.
Isaiah 40:28 “28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.”
Rest in this verse means that simply God ceases from his works.
“were finished” signifies that the works were finished.
So God rested on the seventh day means God ceased from his works.
Hebrews 4:9–10 (NKJV)
9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
God resting on the seventh day, is God ceasing from his work, not because he was tired but because it was finished.
The fourth Commandment
Why as believer do we not keep the sabbath day, which would be saturday and rest from our work.
The sabbath is a shadow of Christ.
Specifically, It is the shadow of the rest that we have in Christ Jesus.
Colossians 2:16–17 (NKJV)
16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,
17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.
Ths substance of the sabbath is Christ, and the sabatth is forshadowing things to come in Christ.

Matthew 11:28–30 (NKJV)
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
“who labor and are heavy laden” he is not speaking od physical labour or physical burden.
He is talking about the youke and burden of the rigtheouse requirements of the Law.
Those weighed down and are labouring for salvation through the works of the law.

The man is reffering to the body which was formed from the dust of the ground and then, into this man God breath into him the breath of life.
A human Being, or living Soul (us) are composed of two things, the inner man or the spirit (breath of life) that came from God and the outer man which was formed from the dust.
In the New Testament, the outer man is replaced by christ in baptism and the innerman is renewed or regenerated by the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

God did not put him in the garden, to just sit there idly eating the banana and singing cumbaya.
He is eating the fruits because he is tending and keeping it.
