in this past week God has been teaching me a lot. So today I wanted share with you something that He has been teaching me, but I think that everybody can relate and struggle at some point of life. I’m going to talk about anxiety and worries.
- How many times have you felt overwhelmed from the situation that kept you awake during the night? How many times have you felt powerless in front of a problem?
I think we can all relate. I mean, I get it, life not always is easy and sometimes it brings you to overthink over the situation over, over and over again. I’ll be honest and vulnerable with you ladies, sometimes I struggle with anxiety. All my high school is characterized by anxiety and stress. I happened that I cried from how much pressure I had on me.
the DEFINITION of anxiety in the dictionary is: an unpleasant state of mental uneasiness, nervousness, apprehension and obsession or concern about some uncertain event.
Anxiety can be caused by a future event, school, relatives. relationships, exams, ecc...
Satan uses this unpleasant state of mental uneasiness as a weapon to keep us from trusting God. He doesn’t want us to trust the Lord almighty for our problems.
But let’s see what the Bible says about it!
Matthew 6:25–34 NKJV
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I love this passage. Here Jesus is talking about how God provides for us in every single field of our lives: clothes, nourishment, ecc...
Jesus is inviting us not to stress about anything, because He will give us whatever we are lacking of.
He takes care about the fields, aren’t we more valuable and more worthy than the wild fields?
v. 27: What does anxiety give? Nothing, it won’t change you time on Earth.
take the example of the lilies: they are beautiful by themselves, they basically do nothing.
v. 32: God knows our needs and fulfills our desires.
v. 33-34: Jesus invites us to seek His kingdom and His righteousness first, and He will fulfill my needs and desires in second place
“DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT TOMORROW, FOR TOMORROW WILL BE ANXIOUS FOR ITSELF. SUFFICIENT FOR THE DAY IS ITS OWN TROUBLE.”
“BUT SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED TO YOU.”
Philippians 4:6–7 NKJV
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
God will provide for us. We are His sons and daughters, don’t stress, He has a plan and He will definitely provide for us, no matter what.
ladies, our God is the Lord Almighty, the most high, the only one who truly knows us and cares about us. He has the power to take our anxiety away. All we need to do is ask fro His provision.
Joshua 1:9 NKJV
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS, the Lord is with you every step of your life.
When we keep our eyes on the Lord, all the earthly things fade and lose their importance. SO don’t stress, He will make a way, but in the meantime, keep your eyes focused on the Lord.
I’ve found this phrase in a post on Instagram that really touched my heart, I wanted to share it with you: “IF IT’S MEANT TO BE, GOD WILL MAKE A WAY. DON’T STRESS, GOD HAS A PLAN”
Today I want to encourage you to live more like lilies: let your burdens to God. He has a plan, do not stress, but trust Him.
Seek God first, and He will take care of the rest.
