Proverbs 3:1-10 Obedience and God’s blessing
I. Keeping God’s Law Adds to Your Life Proverbs 3:1-2
A. Command
1. Don’t forget
2. Put your heart into it
B. Promises
1. More time in a day
2. Long life
3. Peace
II. Mercy and Truth will give you favour and understanding in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3-4
A. Commands
1. Don’t let mercy and truth forsake you (by being unmerciful and untruthful)
2. Bind them to your neck so you don’t forget
3. Write them on your heart (they keep your heart right)
B. Promises
1. It will bring you into favour with God and man
2. It will enlighten your understanding and cause God and man to be understanding with you
III. Trusting the Lord allows Him to guide your life Proverbs 3:5-6
A. Commands
1. Trust in the Lord completely
2. Don’t trust in your own judgement
3. Ask the Lord before making any decisions
B. Promises
1. He will give you guidance
2. He will show you the path to take
IV. Obedience brings good health Proverbs 3:7-8
A. Commands
1. Don’t think yourself to be wise
2. Fear the Lord
3. Flee evil
B. Promises
1. Health to your stomach
2. Nourishment for your bones
V. How to guarantee the Lord’s continual supply Proverbs 3:9-10
A. Commands
1. Honour the Lord by giving of what He has given you
2. Honour Him by giving the first part of all you receive
B. Promises
1. Barns will be filled , no need to store in barns, let the Lord keep everything
2. Supply will be renewed and overflowing
