Isaiah 40:31 NKJV
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Sure, you have super-powers, but what do those powers enable you to do?
You can’t experience the never growing weary, or never fainting, if you never walk!
The walking and running comes before the super powers!
Are you walking?
Not toward an earthly dream or goal. Do you have a goal for the kingdom of God in your life?
What does that look like?
After we’ve been in church for a while, we start to forget what happens when someone surrenders their life to God!
Ephesians 2:1–10 NKJV
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
What we see here is the difference between surrendering to God and just “liking” God.
What do you believe God can do in your life?
your family
your church
your job
your “community”
Most people never define what they want to see God do.
As a church:
We want to see people surrender to God all around the community we’re in. We want to see major drops in drug use, unmarried pregnancy, divorce, alcohol abuse, and crime. We want to see marriages healed, parent-child relationships healed, miracles, and deliverance.
We want to see 75 people in weekly attendance.
How do you walk toward a kingdom vision?
Earth governs heaven.
Matthew 6:10 NKJV
10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
We have to pray like we believe God will do it!
2. God anoints actions.
1 Samuel 17:46 NKJV
46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
This pattern is all throughout the Bible from Genesis to revelation.
Give God something to anoint!
invite someone to church
talk about church
talk about what you read in the Bible
encourage someone with Scripture
let someone know you prayed for them!
help someone with something!
To have testimonies, we have to give God things to give us testimonies about!
