Introduction
Good evening everyone and thank you for being here today. My name is Dustin Alley and I’m blessed to be the pastor of Liberty Baptist Church where Mrs. Rose or baby rose as some of you may know her attends.
join me in prayer
We are here this evening to celebrate the life of Maria
In this moment today may not feel like a good day.
Today will feel like a sad day.
A day of mourning, a day remembering, and day of sharing hugs and tears with loved ones.
That’s ok.
Today is the day that I pray, in the days and years to come, you can look back on and see it as the day you gain closure as you process the loss of Maria in your life.
To the friends of the family that have gathered here, thank you for coming.
As a person who has interacted with others who have lost family members, I can tell you sometimes, you may not know what to say.
Your presence here shows your love and support for this family.
I was able to meet with the Rose this last week and talk about Maria for a bit.
Maria lived to be 53 years old.
Throughout her life she always had a special place in her heart for baby Rose and that extended to her son, Dante.
Mrs. Rose told me about her and Dante’s relatioship and how special it was.
The name calling back and forth and fun times fishing they had.
Maria worked as a Massage therapist and was known to be a kind woman.
Although she could be jokingly mean with her sister.
Rose recounted one time when Maria was younger that she, Maria, was cutting calamari and threw it on Rose.
Rose ran around the house screaming causing their father to step in and see what happened.
As much as she was a fun loving woman, She was also very strong willed.
If she put her mind to something, she was going to stick to it.
I was told that she loved to also give of her time volunteering at the VFW.
What a great testimony of service to others she leaves.
Maria loved her pets.
She had a dog names shelby and then a cat named Wendy.
She was also known to keep just about anything.
In cleaning out her things Rose found a pair of pants that Rose had given her back in high school that she kept.
