There is a lot of talk in our world today regarding many significant issues. Things like the origin of life, the existence of God, the reliability of the Bible, and many other topics. The conflicting thoughts surrounding these topics can easily cause confusion in the hearts and minds of people.
One thing becomes clear in the over talking about these things, is that the worldview, the way you see things, or the way one approaches any issue shapes how he or she sees the information related to that issue.
Everyone who needs glasses or contacts understands the difference in their vision when they wear them or not. if your vision is blurry, when you put your glasses on everything looks differently than without them. things look clearer and truer to reality.
In this series, we are going to us God’s Word as the lens through which to look at the important issues of our day. We want to see the world as Jesus does.
This is what it means to have a biblical worldview. It important for the Christian to develop this kind of worldview to which we approach every topic in life.
One way we can understand this is to think of it in terms of a foundation, and specifically, the cornerstone. of the foundation. In Bible times, a cornerstone was the foundation stone that was laid first and against it the rest of the buildings foundation was laid. The cornerstone was the biggest stone in the foundation. It was unmovable once it was set in place.
When Jesus is our cornerstone, life fits together the way God intended.
when you consider many topics we will look at throughout our study. You will see them differently than the world around you does. When you begin with the foundational truths of God’s Word everything falls into place.
Notice the contrast in God’s view verses the world, or what we call a “secular view.”
The worldview that is set by secular or worldly people take God out of history, denies His absolutes, and overall insists that man knows better than God, if God even exists.
Sadly, this is not just the world who embraces this kind of worldview anymore. Some Churches, perhaps trying to be more relatable to our culture, fail to declare the absolute truths of Scripture. But when church try this people flee from Christianity, calling Christians “hypocrites.” But how can we avoid this slide?
Build your life on the Rock of Jesus Christ and you will stand.
In our turbulent days, if you are not careful you can find yourself in a very confusing place sliding towards a life of distraction and chaos.
