Finding His will like Google takes a little effort. We must think of the best way to ask SIRI for an answer don’t we? The same rule applies in scripture, we must pray about what we need or want from God, an answer, direction, peace. We find these answers in the Bible. It does take some effort though!

When we seek “confirmation” from our friends, do we always listen? Of course not. When we seek guidance from God, do we wait for the guidance of the Holy Spirit? Sometimes! Following His will is not easy. We read in:

Romans 12:1–2 (NLT)1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

Matthew 9:35–37 “35 Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.”

The day of Pentecost arrives: Acts 2:4-5 is A fulfillment of Joel 2:28 that I just read: Acts 2:4–5 “4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. 5 At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem. Today, people are receiving this same experience.

1 Corinthians 12:8–10 “8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. 9 The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. 10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.”

John 16:7–14 “7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. 9 The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. 10 Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. 11 Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged. 12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. 14 He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.”

I will close this morning with a simple question. Do you know God in a personal way? When you know Him, He will change your (a) life; (b) He will change the way you love; (c)He will change the way you are living; and He will change the things you are looking for. God wants to reveal Himself to you and have a part in your daily life! Is it today? Will it be today that you give your heart to Jesus?
