And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hell = Tartarus - deep or bottomless chasm.

Revelation 20:1–3 (KJV 1900)

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Three views of Hell

Universalists

Jesus died for the sin of the world so all the world will be saved.

No hell but on earth

IF you go to hell, it’s only for a short time

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Under the earth… saved in hell.

Problem - takes away mans fee will!

If you are saved, you are given immortality

All this is saying is only God cannot die!

Traditionalists

If disobedient, your soul will go to hell when you die, be called to the great white throne judgement and then cast into the lake of fire.

You have to be saved!

You have to tell others!
