Be Faithful in the Small Things!
Be Faithful in the Small Things!
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Its usually the small things added together that create the big obstacles.
Perseverance requires faithfulness in the small things!
If we are to finish strong we must learn to be faithful in small things
Small Things Grow into Meaningful Things
Small Things Grow into Meaningful Things
Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,
which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”
Faith is considered a small thing in the words of Jesus.
That when a small thing is planted into the ground. Or used as it is supposed to be used. It grows to become huge and powerful!
Faithfulness comes from faith! You wont do the small things if you don’t believe they matter.
Have Faith For the Small Things
Have Faith For the Small Things
So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Jesus told the disciples their unbelief kept them from healing the young boy who was harassed by a demon.
I have found that the greatest men and women of God to walk this planet did the small things! They were very diligent in their prayer life and time in the Bible and Faithfulness in the small things that most of us consider mundane or insignificant.
We are all looking for the “Big Breakthrough” but we are unwilling to do the small things.
Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.”
(The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world.)
Naaman in the bible is a great example. Elisha’s servant Gehazi also a great example.
Naaman the great commander of the army of King Aram
And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”
But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’
Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.
Naaman almost missed his healing because the simple or small thing that was required of him, he almost refused to do.
So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
Gehazi thinking the the little thing he did didn’t matter much.
But He was wrong.
He took profit from the Naaman. it seemed small and Naaman wanted to give it anyway, surely this small thing wouldn’t matter...
2 Kings 5:21 (NKJV)
So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw him running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him, and said, “Is all well?”
And he said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.’ ”
So Naaman said, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him.
When he came to the citadel, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed.
Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you go, Gehazi?”
And he said, “Your servant did not go anywhere.”
Then he said to him, “Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants?
Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow.
Small things can add up to us failing to finish the race strong.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
Lets focus on the small things
Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
