1. Righteousness is available to you!
a. It is witnessed by the Law and Prophets. Romans 3:21; Jeremiah 31:31-34
Romans 3:21 NKJV
But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
Jeremiah 31:31–34 NKJV
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
b. It is through faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:22a; Luke 22:19–20
Romans 3:22a (NKJV)
even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ,
Luke 22:19–20 NKJV
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
c. It is available to everyone who believes. Romans 3:22b; John 6:39–40
Romans 3:22b (NKJV)
to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
John 6:39–40 NKJV
This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
2. There is no difference!
a. Everyone has sinned. Romans 3:23
Romans 3:23 NKJV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
b. Everyone can be justified.
i. Freely by His grace Romans 3:24a
Romans 3:24a (NKJV)
being justified freely by His grace
ii. Through the redemption in Christ Romans 3:24b
Romans 3:24b (NKJV)
being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
iii. Through faith Romans 3:25
Romans 3:25 NKJV
whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
3. God is now both just and justifier!
a. All are guilty before God. Romans 3:19-20
Romans 3:19–20 NKJV
Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
b. God set forth a propitiation, Jesus. Romans 3:25
Romans 3:25 NKJV
whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
c. God is righteous when He judges and when He justifies! Romans 3:26
Romans 3:26 NKJV
to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
