You believe in Him. You accept Him as Lord. But do you seek after Him. Do you steadfastly pursue Him?
Seeking After God: (Possible a good Wednesday night sermon)
· Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.
o What’s your one thing?
o Are you seeking after it?
o Do you pursue it fervently?
· Psalm 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
o Should you be lacking something in your life, let me remind you of the words of James, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning,” (1:17)and he follows that up with, “ye have not because ye ask not.” (4:2).
· Psalm 62:1-2 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
o The Hebrew word translated ‘wait’ means to wait in silence rather than a continual crying out.
o Are you able to say that you soul truly waits (in silence) upon God?
· Psalm 63:1 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
o This is how I feel of late; alone in a dry place, thirsting for GOD…
· Psalm 63:8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
o Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
· Psalm 143:6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
o Isaiah 41:13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
