I. Jesus is incredible. (1:5)

• The faithful witness.
• The firstborn from the dead. (Col. 1:18; I Cor. 15:20-23)
• The Ruler of the kings of the earth. (Rev. 1:12-16)

II. Jesus loves us. (1:5)

• The great King loaves us!
• the power( of love.

III. Jesus freed us by His blood. (1:5; I Cor. 6:9-11)

• "Freed" is past tense.
• Redemption by blood. (Eph. 1:7; Rev. 5:5-10)

IV. Jesus made us priests to serve. (1:6)

• Every Christian is a priest. (I Peter 2:5, 9)
• God saved us to serve. (Matt. 20:28)

Someday Jesus will return to ask us how well we've done with the mission He left for us. (1:7-8; Dan. 7:13; Zech. 12:10; Matt. 24:30-31)

Will I mourn or rejoice when Jesus returns?
