Anyone CAN interpret scripture with the Holy Spirit as their guide

Anyone CAN interpret scripture with the Holy Spirit as their guide. The Catholic church teaches that this isn't so and that only the pope and their magistarium can interpret scripture correctly. This is a bald faced lie, was originally taught to keep their power over the people and is continued till this day. Jesus taught that we all have the Holy Spirit and that He will guide us into all truth. You don't need a priest or the Catholic church to show you what the Bible says or what it means.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

God in His mercy has not left us without His instructions and does not let us depend on other men to teach us. God has personally stepped in and become our teacher so that we are not misled by mere teachings of men if we let Him.

Psalm 25:8-9Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

God takes the time to teach us because He is good and upright in all His ways. God teaches us through His Word, so it's very important that we read His Word daily

John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

This is the "job" of the Holy Spirit. He can't do His job though if you don't know Him and spend time with His Word.

Hebrews 8:10-11
10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel: After those days,'' says the Lord, "I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
11 "None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, `Know the Lord,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

When I first started to grow in the Lord, I was complaining to Him that I had no one to teach me. He pointed out these verses to me and stopped my complaining! He then continued to teach me faster than I could believe possible! He is an awesome teacher!

John 15:26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

The Holy Spirit is also God and cannot lie. He will tell you the truth of all things and He will teach you about Jesus and remind you of all you need to know.

Psalms 25:8-9 Good and upright is the Lord; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way.

The Lord is good and He is fair. He wants us to know His ways and He will teach us if we will listen and be humble. He is so gentle with us, that He doens't overwhelm us all at once, but teaches us just what we can handle at the time. Then when we have assimilated that, He moves on to the next lesson.

Isaiah 28:26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.

2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

The Lord wants us to understand and Love Him, so He is not going to withhold knowledge from you. If you're struggling to understand something, ask the Lord what you're missing. Maybe He wants to take you in a different direction to understand it better. Maybe there's something else you need to look at first. He is a very thorough teacher and will make sure you've learned the first part before He gives you part two.

Colossians 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

All wisdom and knowledge are God's and He will willingly share this with you.

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

All He wants us to do is ask Him and He will give us the wisdom we seek. He doesh't want us to be unknowledgable. Mostly He wants us to know Him and understand the things of the Spirit.

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Many people think that to get wisdom you must study lots of books and probably go to college and get degrees. That's not what the Lord says is the first step though. According to Him, the way you should start gaining wisdom is to fear the Lord. Now to fear Him doesn't mean that you take off to hide everytime you think of Him. It's more of a healthly respect and the knowledge that He made you and that no matter what, He is in charge. (you can pretend that you're the one in charge of your life as long as you want, but in reality it is the Lord) Now let's take a look at the definition of "fear".

fear (fîr)
n.
1.
a. A feeling of agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger.
b. A state or condition marked by this feeling: living in fear.
2. A feeling of disquiet or apprehension: a fear of looking foolish.
3. Extreme reverence or awe, as toward a supreme power.
4. A reason for dread or apprehension
: Being alone is my greatest fear.

Normally the first two definitions don't apply here. I say normally simply because if you stray and don't repent then they could apply. The third definition is pretty obvious so I won't explain that one. The fourth one is also true though. Sin is a reason for dread or apprehesion--if only till we confess it and repent. Remember even Jesus said not to fear a person that can kill your body but to instead fear God who not only holds the power of life and death over you but can also condemn your soul.

Psalms 53:2 God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.

Again here we see that understanding is associated with seeking God, not with studying books. So, study His Word and spend time with Him in prayer and you will gain wisdom and understanding.

Do you now see that you don't need a Pope or a Cardinal, or a Bishop or even a Priest to teach you about Jesus?
