1 Peter 5:8 (KJV 1900)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Luke 22:31 (KJV 1900)
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
2 Corinthians 2:11 (KJV 1900)
11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Ephesians 6:11 (KJV 1900)
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Disobedience relating to Sin
Genesis 3:1–10
1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Temptation to Disobey and sin
Genesis 3:1–8 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise…
1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Matthew 4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
The process is clear.
The Enemy dangles the lures in front of us, and we take the bait.
Then, in a demonic twist, he turns on us and beats us up with accusations.

satan transforms from the Enticer to the Excuser to the Accuser
As Enticer...
“Go ahead and sin; God will still love you”
“Just one more time, and you can stop.”
“Don’t worry; God will forgive you.”
“You deserve this, Don’t miss it!”
”Its a little sin, no one will ever know”
Satan will tell you that's okay to do these things, everyone else is doing it, it will not harm you.
Sin is a powerful tool which satan will attack you with.
He knows your weaknesses because at times you show them to him.
He also knows your strengths because at times you show that to him with pride saying I know I am strong here or there and I cannot be defeated in that area of my life.
But that can become weakness thru overconfidence.
Transgression thru Disobedience of sin
Genesis 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
James 1:14–15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Mark 7:21–23 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
satan transforms from the Enticer to the Excuser to the Accuser
As Excuser...
"You knew God would still love you, it's okay”
"The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak"
"You knew God would forgive you"
"The temptation was just too great"
Many great men and women have fell because of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
Adam and Eve, David, Samson, and others
Satan will tell you once you commit the sin that you don't need to do anything, he will remind you of how that sin felt.
He fails to remind you it is wrong and has a penalty and consequences.
