Good afternoon, I hope you are well.
I am tuning to share with a tool I learned years ago from John Piper and his ministry, a tool that helps us created a biblical rhythm for our lives and weeks.
This tool has been supremely helpful to me when I have used it, it has bought more WHOLENESS, GODLINESS, PEACE, and other Godly things into my life.
- When I haven’t used this tool it has brought the opposite of WHOLENESS, GODLINESS, PEACE....it’s brought anxiety, worry, depression,
This goes in line with what we have been learning at Renew from God’s Word that God has created us for RYTHMN, GOD HAS A STANDARD AND VIEW ON HOW WE SHOULD LIVE
- When we live into this we will have more WHOLENESS, MORE GODLINESS, MORE HEALTH, MORE PEACE, MORE PRASIE FOR GOD.
- We will have the opposite anxiety, depression, anxiousness
This also combats the pandemic that excited before the pandemic, which was the the pandemic of ANXIETY
- Before the pandemic 36% of Americans were suffering from frequent ANXIETY and now it is at 42%
One of the ways we move to health is by living in God’s created rhythm of work and rest.
As Deut 5:12-15
Deuteronomy 5:12–15 ESV
“ ‘Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter or your male servant or your female servant, or your ox or your donkey or any of your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates, that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord your God brought you out from there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore the Lord your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day.
(God says on 6 days you shall work, vocational work, house work, house projects, etc.)
1 full day you Sabbath, cease from working, glorifiying God and getting Renewed, physically, emotionally, spiritual
Here’s the question we are left with.....Is God’s desire for us that 1 day we rest and the other 6 days all we do is work?
No
If all we do is work WE WILL EDGE GOD AND OTHERS OUT THE TWO GREATEST COMMANDS, PERHAPS YOU’VE DONE THIS OR HAD A MOM OR DAD, HUSBAND, OR WIFE DO THIS.
HOW MANY HOURS SHOULD WE WORK? EVERYDAY THAT WE WORK? 7, 8, 9, 12....IT DOESN’T SAY
BUT WHAT WE LEARN FROM THE SCIENTIFIC, PHYSCOLOGICAL, MEDICAL WORLD IS OUR BODEIS CAN ONLY HANDLE ON A CONSISTANT BASIS AT MOST 50-55 HOURS OF WORK A WEEK, ACTUALLY THOSE WHO WORK 40 HOURS A WEEK ARE MORE PRODUCTIVE, GET MORE WORK DONE THAN THOSE WHO WORK 55 HOURS A WEEK
I WANT TO SHARE WEEKLY RHYTMN TOOL THAT JOHN PIPER USES AND USED WITH HIS STAFF, THAT HE LEARED FROM SOMEONE ELSE…THAT USES BIBLE AND THE BEST MEDICAL, AND EXPERT ADVICE

WE ARE GOING TO CREATE 21 BLOCK TO OUR WEEK, WITH EVERYONE GETTING 3 BLOCKS MORNING, AFTERNOON, EVENING, AND THE GOAL IS FOR US TO HAVE 7-10 REST & REJUVENTATION TIMES A WEEK WITH 3 HAPPENING ONE DAY TO BE OUR SABBATH.
OPTIMAL WEEK
BUT NOT EVERYWEEK IS OPTIMAL
WE HAVE TO WORK IN THE EVEING, KIDS SPORTS, HOUSE PROJECT
WE MUST DO WHAT CAN TO PROTECT OUR REST AND REJUVENATION TIME, IT IS FOR YOUR WHOLENESS, IT IS FOR YOUR HEALTH, IT IS FOR YOUR FAMILY....TO NOT DO IT WILL LEAD TO ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION.
For the purpose of time invested into ministry/career and time off for rest and family, split the each day
into 3 Rest & Rejuvenation modules (morning, afternoon, & evening) or 21 modules a week. Pledge to take off 7-10 R&R modules a week, and to take off 3 of these modules consecutively (to fulfill a
