Praise the Lord 1-5

David writes that people should sing, praise, and shout the Lord. He is worthy of such and deserving of our worship. When we consider who He is and what He has done our response should be to worship Him.
He has given us His Word in written form. It is without error and His very words. His work is done in faithfulness. This means that it is trustworthy. You can depend on the works of the Lord. He deals with us in righteousness, justice, and lovingkindness.
What are some things that cause you to worship the Lord?
What has the Lord done for you that makes you want to worship Him?

Lord of Creation 7-9

God created the heavens

God is a self-sustaining God that needs no one or nothing. He has always been, always is, and always will be. He is an eternal God with no beginning or no end. He chose to speak into existence all of heavens and their hosts.
God created space time and matter. He also created spirit. All of the angels He spoke into existence. The righteous and the ones who would fall. Revelation 12:7-12
Revelation 12:7–12 NASB95
And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. “For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”
He also created the angels that would worship Him at all times. Revelation 4:5-11
Revelation 4:5–11 NASB95
Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God; and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. The first creature was like a lion, and the second creature like a calf, and the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.” And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, “Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

God created the earth

Not only did God create the heavens, but He created the earth as a place for His creation to live. Genesis 1
Genesis 1 NASB95
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day. Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so. The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a third day. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day. Then God said, “Let the waters teem with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens.” God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so. God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food”; and it was so. God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Because God has created the heavens and the earth, he demands worship. He is the authority over His creation. We are to stand in awe of Him.
What are some attributes of God that make you stand in awe of Him?

The Counsel of the Lord Is Right 10-12

Everything we need to know regarding life is found in the Word of God. When we study, understand and apply it to our lives we will live in the fullness of His purpose for our creation. However, there are times where we think we are slick and try to live outside God’s principles. This is where we get in trouble. The psalmist writes that He nullifies the counsel of the nations and frustrates the plans of the people
Conversely, the counsel of the Lord stands forever and is from generation to generation. God’s counsel is not only good for us but also for those that will come after us. It has been that way for thousands of years. This is why the Bible has remained over thousands of years.
Blessed is the nation that whose God is the Lord. This simply means that nations that live in accordance to the principles of God will be blessed. Those that do not live in accordance to the principles of God will not be blessed. As a matter of fact they will live with the consequences of their choice to live outside of the Word of God.

The Eyes of the Lord 13-22

The Lord looks down from heaven and sees all people. He sees what they do and what is in their hearts. Nothing is hidden before the Lord.
The Lord pays special attention to those in Christ. He delivers our souls from death, keeps us alive in famines, helps us in our times of trouble!
