When someone has lived and loved and shared and given, there are many stories in this sanctuary today.
The purpose of a funeral is not really to tell all the stories, but really to capture in a brief way the essence of a life that really speaks for itself.
Let the memories of sweeter times fill your heart as we reflect on grandma Wanda’s life.
I know that the last few weeks have been filled with struggle for her, but there were also times of joy, happiness, and valuable memories.
You all have a stockpile of memories created by the life and times of this woman.
I read once that it is the duty and obligation of every person to leave behind them a pleasant memory of themselves.
As a mother she taught you and nurtured you,
She gave you principals and values to live by.
She made you breakfast, packed your lunch and sent you out into the world.
As a grandmother she seemed to listen when mom and dad didn’t quite understand your world or problems.
Like the old song says, “precious memories, how they linger.”
Wanda Whitworth....
One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.
She wanted to come here to church with some of you.
She wanted to come up here and have her youngest sister Debbie come to church with her.
Last night Debbie said we finally made it.
Wanda lived to her 75th year.
She left us on Feb 8:

It’s not how long you live, but how well you live.

Wither you lived to see 21 or 91 the secret to a good life is to find that eternal principle around which to order the rest of your life.
Some people are always going ....
There’s power in having something around which to order the rest of your life.
I do many things, but it’s ordered around one thing.
Seek ye first the kingdom ....

Wanda: Pineapple pie, Biscuits and chocolate gravy. Fried green tomatoes. Fried potatoes...
Mixing the ingredients and making it work.
“I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
This pandemic ought to teach us how sweat is fellowship. It’s sweater than Pineapple pie.
Caregiver - When others were sick, didn’t matter if she was sick herself.
The experiences and values given to us by the preceding generation can be handed down to the next.
Though Grandma Wanda is no longer with us, her values, beliefs, and your experiences with her can live on.
When I look back over my life, my memories are not constructed of wealth or money that we did or didn’t have...,
but rather of camping trips, vacations, Christmas holidays together; family times.
My father was also a pastor of a church, so I remember church services, church outing, people, things revolving around the kingdom of God.
There is a God who will teach you how to turn your pain into power!
whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
Prayer:
We thank you oh. God for her footprint in this life, and for her imprint in each of our lives.
We thank you for the comfort that you bring, and will continue to bring to those who mourn her loss.
Announcement:
Everyone is invited to the cemetery with the family for a few minutes and then the family will gather here at the church for ......
At Grave site:
Here at this cemetery we commit this body to its kindred dust.
The Word of God says, “the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” (Gen 2:7)
God later told Adam, “for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”(Gen 3:19)
Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust-the spirit we leave with God. This is the end of all living.
May we who are living take it to heart. All we aquire in this life, whether it be wealth, possessions, education or knowledge will not go with us beyond this point.
Let us commit ourselves to him that said, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”John 11:25-26
May the Lord comfort you today with his wonderful peace that passes all understanding.
These words that the psalmist penned still rings true today “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.”(Psalms 23:4)
