Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Introduction:
Belief sometimes is a funny thing. You can go crazy trying to wrap your mind around it.
For example:
1 Do you believe in ghost?
2. Do you believe in aliens?
3. Do you believe in big foot?
4. Do you believe in UFO’s?
Even though people have never seen any of the this, they will swear on their mothers grave that it real.
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
Connected with superstition, tattooing was practiced in various pagan nations from the earliest times, as well as markings with paint and cutting the flesh.
Any disfiguration of the body was an outrage to God and an insult to Him who designed the body.
Most people quickly respond to a lie or believe anything that’s base on absolutely no facts what so ever.
While they can see, hear, and read truth and still refuse to believe it.
Why is this?
The truth will be downtown before the truth can put its shoes on.
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
Stating once and for all, regardless of what it is or who it is, that prayer will be answered providing there is unwavering faith.
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
The disciples did this, but there is a difference in a rebuke of faith and power and one of unbelief. Jesus had conquered Satan and demons in the wilderness and was master of them, but this had not yet been done by the disciples
Why could not we cast him out?
The answer, “Because of your unbelief” is always the correct one for questions like this
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
Instead of accepting this many modern followers have manufactured innumerable substitutes as excuses for the lack of power, such as,
1. “it may not be God’s will”;
2. “you may be under the chastening of God”;
3. “power to heal was for the apostles only”;
4. “signs, gifts, and miracles ceased with the apostles”;
5. “you may be exalted if God would hear your prayers”;
6. “healing is not in the atonement”;
7. “healing is not for all today”; etc.
