Introduction

Genesis 8:22 KJV 1900
22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Body
In the natural, life is paramount and we place great importance on it
The birth of a child and abortion
Sickness unto death
Accidents
Death is the enemy!
It came into existence because of the rebellion of Adam
It has plagued mankind, and all of creation, ever since
It was never suppose to be here. It’s alien to God’s original plan
Death is the punishment for sin
Romans 6:23 KJV 1900
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Death will be defeated once and for all!
Isaiah 25:8 KJV 1900
8 He will swallow up death in victory; And the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; And the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: For the Lord hath spoken it.
1 Corinthians 15:54 KJV 1900
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
In the spirit however, we cannot have life unless we first experience death
Adam and Eve told how to cover sin
The Tabernacle plan’s sacrificial system
Jesus’ death on the cross for sin
Repentance and death to our old natures
In the natural we must value life. All life. Except our own.
Revelation 12:11 KJV 1900
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
John 12:23–25 KJV 1900
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
The Seed
Grows, gets bigger, filled with water, with life
Then, it begins to desiccate and get hard
At the end, it lies dried out, hard, completely dormant
At this point, and only at this point, the seed is ready
New Convert to Maturity
Going from needing to be ministered to, to ready to minister
You cannot effectively minister until you are ready to lay down your life
Matthew 20:25–28 KJV 1900
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. 26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; 27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
If you save the seed alive, there can be no crops
Without death, there can be no harvest
Only when we die to self can we be resurrected in newness of life
Only when we die to self can we see a harvest of souls in our lives
1 John 3:16 KJV 1900
16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
John 15:12–13 KJV 1900
12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Conclusion

Deuteronomy 30:20 KJV 1900
20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
