(See Prov 19:3; Gen 3:12.).
b. 1:14a We all face temptation (See 1 Cor 10:12-13).
c. 1:14b Our temptation comes from our own
lusts/desires (See Jms 4:1-4; Prov 4:23; Mt 15:19.).
d. 1:15 Unaddressed desire leads to sin, and sin leads to
death (See Gen 2:17; Rom 5:12; 6:23.).
e. 1:16-17 We are easily deceived about the goodness of
God (Compare Gen 3.).
f. 1:18 Our purpose is to be a “firstfruits of His creatures”
(Eph 2:8-10).
2. Consider the character of God.
a. 1:13b God is not tempted by evil.
b. 1:13c God Himself tempts no one.
c. 1:17a God is the Giver of every good and perfect gift.
