FOCUS
Reconciliation is one of this fallen world’s & broken life’s greatest experiences.
Whenever there’s conflict or any kind of relational disconnect, reconciliation bridges the gap & brings people back together for the resolution God desires.
Of course hearing about it or beginning to understand it doesn’t mean it’ll ever actually happen.
But happen it must.
One of the realities that takes place when someone meets, believes & comes to know God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit is that they are reconciled to God.
The disconnect with Him ends forever.
It is glorious.
But it doesn’t end there.
Hopefully not long after their reconciliation with God, the Christian finds his or her way to 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 & discovers that the call to the ministry of reconciliation is placed upon them.
The ministry of reconciliation …
1. comes with our reconciliation to God.
God’s desire is that everyone be reconciled to Him & each other.
2 Corinthians 5:11ff (especially vs 17-20)
2. is preceded by our informed & heartfelt response to the gospel.
2 Corinthians 5:21 powerfully elevates, celebrates & articulates the gospel.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (also Colossians 1:21-23)
Making It Real
1] Are you convinced this is true?
If so, how does it continue to show up in your life?
2] Have you ever seriously pondered how simply & profoundly the gospel is defined &
declared in 2 Corinthians 5:21?
How grateful are you for its results in your life?
Action Step
Memorize 2 Corinthians 5:21.
