I. Facts about Jesus Christ.

• He knows what's happening. (1:12-13, 20)
• He is Lord. (1:12-18)
• He is returning. (2:5, 16, 25; 3:3, 11, 20)

II. Affirmation, correction & warning for Jesus' church.

• God wants to encourage and strengthen His church. (Eph. 5:25-27)
• The devil wants to destroy the church. (2:9, 10; 2:13; 2:24; 3:9)

III. Challenges for us.

• We should pay attention to God. (2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22)
• We should be realistic about sin. (2:14; 2:20-22; 2:15; 2:2-4; 3:1-2; Num. 22-25)
• We should repent when necessary. (2:5, 16, 21-23; 3:2-3, 19; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; 19:17-20)
• We should be faithful no matter what happens. (2:10; 13; 19)

The promises of God are for those who overcame.
