Which baptism is for today
It has been a great misunderstanding of which baptism is the correct way to go inorder to really be considered a true worshiper of GOD.
In (Acts 2:38), was a significant part of the first sermon given by the Apostle Peter to the one-hundred and twenty disciples and many other Jews that were there and the sermon. It made a clear understanding that the first century christian put to practice that we all need to be baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Many times in the gosple of John, Jesus spoke that everything he said were not his words but he spoke of what was commanded of him by God. For instance in the passage of (John 12:44,49,50), out of obedience, Jesus did as he was commanded by our Father. In (John 14:13-18;25-26) our Lord explains to his disciples that he was not going to leave them on their own but with the same assitance that he had through the Holy Spirit of GOD, and bring all that he spoke and taught them in the three years of his ministry. At the point of the death of our Lord, and being raised from the dead, before our Lords ascention there was was a change in the practice of baptism. This occurred perhaps in (Acts 1:4-8) when our Lord appeared to his disciples for the last time, and encouraged them with his message; then he was taken up (Acts 1:9).
In various passages in the book of Acts that the author clearly states by what practice of baptism should any faithful believer should consider be done to oneself. Many religions, churches, denomination,or congregation as well as many of the churches of Christ still practice (Matt. 28:19) up to this day. Are we or should we disregard one part of the Holy Scriptures and not another? GOD forbid. Are we not supposed to do everything in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We pray in his name,we partake in the Lord Supper in his name, His church (body) is in his name, we give thanks in his name, we end our prayers in his name, everything we do is in his name. That is why it is very important to consider and to look for awnsers, study this area even deeper, and consider all possibilities, yes even your salvation.
Well, here is something to help you consider all doubtful questions. In (ICor. 1:9-13) Paul rebukes the church at corith about their debate and division that rose up, and undoubtedly is the same debate and division that occures even in these times. By the tender mercies of God this should not be happening with in the Church of Christ, wake up and listen to the Spirit of Tuth, which is the same Holy Spirit of GOD that taught and spoke for the prophets of the Old Testament, and the same with our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Apostles who wrote the New Testament, and even with us as well, but only if we obey the will of GOD.
If anyone can show me where else, other that in (Matt. 28:19), is another text or passage I myself will stand corrected. In my faith and trust in my Father I know that this will never happen, because I've studied on this lesson for x amount of time and will stand firm with my beliefs. Lets keep in mind that the word od GOD is alive and very active and with very strong convictions, God talks to us through his glorious word (Heb. 4:12).
May the good Lord God almighty bless us with complete understanding so that we may be in the right before his eyes and always please him. If anyone thinks that they need to reevaluate their salvation, and all to come forward commit to the practice of (Acts 2:38) as I my wife, siter, mother, and dad has done in the Name of Jesus Christ, the invitation is always open for all those who wish to do so.
All text that I've used came from the King James Vesion.
