I. Pray Boldly: 4:15-16

A. Jesus feels our pain, and sympathizes with us.
B. We come to God with confidence. “The only person who dares wake up a king at 3:00 AM for a glass of water is a child. We have that kind of access.”- Tim Keller.
C. It is the throne of grace. We often equate throne with judgment. God wants to give us good gifts. But if we come with unbiblical fear, instead of biblical confidence, then it is not a faith-filled prayer and a waste of time. Matt. 7:11
Matthew 7:11 NASB95
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
D. Pray believing God will answer you. Pray and doubt, do without. Pray and believe you will receive. James 1:5-8
James 1:5–8 NASB95
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
Mark 9:24 NASB95
Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”
E. When we go with biblical faith, and confidence, we find mercy and grace.

II. Remember Jesus Prays For You: 7:25

A. Jesus prays for us. There are times when we are too caught up in self to know that our will isn’t the same as God’s will. So Jesus prays that we will get on the same page as Him. Jam. 4:2-3
James 4:2–3 NASB95
You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
B. Jesus’ prayers makes us bold. “If I could hear Christ praying for me in the next room, I would not fear a million enemies. Yet distance makes no difference. He is praying for me”- Robert Murray M’Cheyne
C. Jesus’ prayers comfort us.

III. Pray Boldly As You Live Boldly: 10:18-25

A. Jesus made us the Holy of Holies. Live continually in the presence of God.
B. We do this not because we make ourselves holy, but Jesus, has made us holy.
C. This helps us to pray boldly and live godly. (Note card invitation)
