I AM WITH YOU
Exodus 3:14 (NLT)
God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am.
Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”
I AM | TO BE - the absolute existence of God - everything that God is, is with us.
The story of Moses and the burning bush - is a story of God’s endless pursuit to be with His creation - His anger towards Moses was because He did not want Moses to miss out on a calling that would bring eternal value.
Story of the prophetic words given to my father over me
Joshua 1:5
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live.
For I will be with you as I was with Moses.
I will not fail you or abandon you.
We can fill safely with our Heavenly Father because what He wants to start with us, He will finish in & through us.
What we start & pursue, we have to manage; What God starts and pursues, He has to manage
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAFE?
With God as our safety, refuge, & strong tower, safe will not mean comfortable and taken care of.
It will mean sometimes uncomfortable and always take care of.
2 Timothy 1:6–7
This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline (Sound-Mind).
sound mind, sophronismos (so-fron-is-moss); Strong’s #4995: A combination of sos, “safe,” and phren, “the mind”; hence, safe-thinking.
The word denotes good judgment, disciplined thought patterns, and the ability to understand and make right decisions.
It includes the qualities of self-control and self-discipline.
Reacting out of fear gives us a false understanding of what it means to be safe.
In the face of fear, we are to remember our calling from God (2 Tim.
1:6).
We have within us:
1) the power of God, through the Holy Spirit, enabling us to no longer be victims (v.
7)
2) the perfect love of God, poured into our lives through Jesus Christ and His abiding presence.
3) the mind of Christ by which we can apply the ways of God in making “sound|safe” choices
Applying this truth determines whether we overcome fear or are overcome by it
