Part 5 SELL LOW, BUY HIGH . (Final)

Recapping our series:

Where have we come from?

Well we started this journey with the URGENCY of ETEERNITY: “Heaven is Real, Hell is Real & Eternity is but a breath away” // How a man in Sydney names Arthur Stace was Radically Saved after a living a tough tough life HEARD a message in a church service and got a revelation of eternity and wrote the word that sparked something in a whole nation.

Then we journeyed through the realities of what Heaven is - and with that information i can DO certain things now

*What i believe about ETERNITY determines what i do with today”

We talked about the realities of HELL… a place of Eternal Seperation without REACH of GRACE - and how Heaven is a place where i in JESUS Christ - go to be with God. Forever.

Last week - reading our text in Phillipians and Ephesians where the apostle Paul uses the very understood nartural parallel of Roman Citizenship to that which is OURS as HEAVENLY Citizens here on earth and how actually my “Citizenship Helps” ME now - here on Earth. It gives me rights, privileges, Status. The greatest of which is because of the Cross.... my status now is ultimately status as a SON, as a DAUGHTER.

WE ARE ENDING THIS SERIES TODAY. i hope it sparked something new in you.

Let’s turn in our bibles to Luke 18. Where JESUS tells someone about HEAVEN.

Luke 18:18–30 (ESV)

18 And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’ ” 21 And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” 22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. 24 Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” 27 But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” 28 And Peter said, “See, we have left our homes and followed you.” 29 And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who will not receive many times more in this time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Opening: What they tech you at business school and through life if you ever invest in anything is this: The GOLDEN RULE in investing in stocks or real estate is to do this thing

BUY LOW...... AND SELL HIGH.

The idea is that you NEVER want to be the ONE buying at the top and selling as the bottom.

BUY LOW AND SELL HIGH.

But in heaven’s economy - The rule is reversed.

SELL AT THE BOTTOM<> Here on earth.

BUT AT THE TOP>> Store up TREASURES for yourself in HEAVEN.

Everyone’s looking for a quick buck - i mean who doesn't want to earn an easy buck! (i have friends that are obsessed with quick rich schemes..... Quick Buck Scheme: What about the ETERNAL BUCK SCHEME?

What if i told you, there is an account in HEAVEN that has your name on it. And what if i told you, that you could start INVESTING into and BUILDING UP that account NOW. So while Your still on earth, your still living you life here.

Thats exactly what Jesus us telling this Rich Young Man. Sell now, Invest for LATER.

SELL THE WORLD NOW, SO YOU CAN BUY HIGH… YOU CAN HAVE TREASURES IN HEAVEN

1.SELL LOW

Luke 18:22 “22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.””

In response to what ALREADY seemed like he had done enough - what does Jesus say:

The very last thing He was expecting HIM TO SAY.

SELL IT ALL.

LIQUIDATE THE ENTIRE THING

GIVE IT ALL AWAY.

SELL IT ALL .

Jesus is trying to tell us something here about heaven.

He’s SAYING: SELL LOW.

This minute thing called this LIFE and Earth is SO RIDICULOUSLY small don’t even MAKE THE COMPARISON between what THIS IS… and WHAT I AM PREPARING FOR YOU

SELL LOW.

Q:Do you struggle and get attached to things? to comforts? to Relationships? To Stuff that is “of this world”?

SELL LOW>

(Jesus doesn’t say that a rich person CANT enter heaven. He just says its DIFFICULT. and Nothing is impossible with God - But What makes it EASIER, is if WE UNDERSTAND EARTHLY Treasure for what it is. earthly treasure is Here today, Gone TMRW>

But Storing up ETERNAL treasures are FOREVER.

****ONE OF THE TRAITS OF FIRST CENTURY FOLLLWSHIP or FOLLOWING THE MESSIAH or someone who claimed to be the messiah was not JUST what you gave up. it was ALSO the READINESS at which you would be willing to LEAVE THEM and FOLLOW.

The same goes for us today. it MIGHT be 2022 but nothing has changed.

Q: Hows your READINESS?

Are you willing to SELL LOW> Sell here right now. CASH IN. SELL OUT. BE SOLD OUT FOR JESUS CHRIST.

Truth: We’re called to LIVE for ETERNITY, Not For POSSESSIONS.

SELL POSSESSIONS, BUY HEAVEN.

How do we sell low?.......Get a revelation of Grace

and Allow the GOODNESS of God to pass by you.

and you follow it...

OR really it follows you

Thats how to SELL LOW.

WRITE THIS DOWN: ITS EASY TO SELL EVERYTHING WHEN YOUR EYES ARE ON JESUS.

because GRACE is just SO GOOD.

(its NOT Easy when you're eyes wander).

Its when your eyes are fixed or your heart is obsessed

2.BUY HIGH

How do we BUY HIGH?

Once we have a revelation of GRACE

and FROM GRACE

As we are Spurred on BY GRACE….

Towards GOOD WORKS DOING GOOD THINGS GOING GOOD DEEDS….. (WHICH IN TURN STORE UP GREAT TREASURE.).

BECAUSE ITS ONLY BY GRACE WE CAN ACTUALLY DO GOOD WORKS>

Ephesians 2:8-10 “8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

SO its FROM A REVELATION OF GRACE WE SELL LOW

NOW WE ARE BUYING HIGH . BECAUSE WERE LOOKING TO DO SOMETHING FOR HEAVEN’s GAIN,.

Matthew 25 (ESV)

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

WITH GRACE AS OUR MOTIVATOR - We pursue GOOD WORKS>

We starte to ACCUMULATE IN HEAVEN:

“I DONT DO THINGS TO BELIEVE ...... BUT THE THINGS I DO SHOWS WHAT I ALREADY BELIEVE”

James 2:14-18 “14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”

*YOU CAN GIVE NOW & HAVE TREASURE THEN

*WELCOME STRANGERS INTO OUR HOMES

*CLOTHE PEOPLE THAT NEED COVERING

*CARE FOR SICK PEOPLE & PRAY FOR THEIR HEALING

*FEED PEOPLE & SEE THAT WE DO WHAT WE CAN

*GIVE A THIRSTY PERSON A DRINK

THESES ARE THE WAYS WE BUY HIGH

The THINGS WE DO CAN AFFECT HOW WE LIVE IN ETERNITY

*YOU CAN LOVE THE PEOPLE IN YOUR WORLD

*YOU CAN SERVE SOMEONE NOW & HAVE TREASURE THEN

*YOU CAN FEED the POOR & HAVE PLENTY IN HEAVEN

*YOU CAN DO SOMETHING NOW THAT BUYS YOU TREASURE THERE.

*YOU AND I CAN DO THINGS NOW THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE THEN!

BUT TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE:

James 4:13-14 “13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— 14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

LIVING WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF ETERNITY!

We spend our time and energy and MONEY focused on something thats going to have only a momentary, temporal impact. But we can live our lives HERE building What COMES NEXT. and WHAT COMES NEXT LAST A REALLY REALLY LONG TIME!
