2 Kings 6:15–17 KJV 1900
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. 18 And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. 19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? 20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. 21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. C. New Wine or New Birth?!

Acts 2:12–15 KJV 1900
12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

1. If it had been new wine there would be no change in these people.

2. The experience would be fleeting.

a. Just like everything else the world has to offer substances only last a short time.

b. Many times things end up worse than they were before.

3. What these people experienced was not a fleeting experience there was far more than met the eye!

a. This experience brought the miraculous!

Acts 5:12–16 KJV 1900
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. 13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

b. This experience turned their world around!

Acts 17:6 KJV 1900
6 And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;
i. It caused the religious to worry!
ii. It caused those around to stop and ask questions!

4. The Spirit of God brings liberty into our lives!

2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV 1900
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

a. Be born of His Spirit is what brings that comfort into our lives!

b. Being born again is how we can begin to see beyond what meets the eye!

i. My life is upside down right now, but that’s only what meets the eye!
ii. What is God doing that you aren’t seeing?
John 15:26 KJV 1900
26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

c. Paul told us what God revealed to him on the road to Damascus!

Acts 26:15–18 KJV 1900
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. 16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; 17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, 18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
