Good morning and welcome to Kingdom fit online ministry.
Our vision is to evangelize equip and empower people to be fit for the Kingdom!
Recap:
The last couple weeks we’ve been talking about the
Priority of the Kingdom
Purpose of the Kingdom
Now:
People of the Kingdom
Position : referring to relationship
Purpose: understanding that it is God that made us “Jeremiah 1:5 Before you were formed in the womb I already knew you.
Power: Acts 1:4,5 While being together and eating with them, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Of which,” He said, “you have heard Me speak. 5 For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized and empowered and united with the Holy Spirit, not long from now.”
As we were talking about people to Kingdom we are talking about those who have excepted Christ as Lord and Savior. The term is born again, when we asked the Spirit of God the Holy Spirit into our hearts because of what Jesus did on the cross! John 3:16
that that act that we believe in renews our spirit and now our spirit is born of God another words born again and we have the indwelling of the spirit of God on the inside of us.
The Bible says in John 1 : 12 but as many as received him (Christ) to them he gave the right to become Children of God.
This passage describes the new birth, for the next verse we are told that these people who received Christ were born of God. The Greek word here translated the right is exousia. Exousia denotes a Being or a nature which is derived from an external source. In other words the person who receives Christ as savior receives, in Christ, the nature of God himself. The in dwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13-14
And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.
However, authority is not the same as power. The first disciples already had his authority from the time of Christ resurrection onward. They were already sons of God. They were able to lead godly in overcoming sin in their lives. They were no longer slaves to sin. However during the period of the resurrection to the day of Pentecost, these first disciples made a very little positive impact on a great majority of the inhabitants of Jerusalem. As a whole during the period of Jerusalem was very little change were affected by the fact of Christ resurrection.
All this abruptly and dramatically changed, however by the dissent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost! As soon as the 120 believers in the upper room were baptized in the Holy Spirit, the whole of Jerusalem immediately felt the impact within an hour or two a crowd of many of thousands had gathered and therefore close to 3000 people had been converted and been added to the church. The adding power to authority. Before the day of Pentecost the disciples already had authority. After Pentecost they had authority plus power, they had power that was needed to make their authority fully effective.
Jesus made good on a promise.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”
Now let’s just take a look of Jesus and the disciples. For the last three years Jesus has been mentoring training and developing his disciples.
Live life the kings way
God’s principles:
love your enemies
Pray for The Who use you
We need assistance
John 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
We need heaven on earth!
We need help!
If your going to live like Jesus.
Your going to need the helper!
The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power. The explosive dynamite of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 4:20
For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
The Greek word which Paul here uses is Dumas explosive power. It is not a question merely of words we speak but of the power which makes our words affective. The key to this spiritual power is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. For this there is no substitute. We see, then, that according to the New Testament the primary result of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is supernatural inducement with power from on high to become effective witnesses for Christ.
This is what makes us fit for the kingdom.
Let’s take a look at the book of Acts!
Acts 4:31
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:33
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 8:5-8
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.
So What are we missing?
