The Proof

Luke 7:18–23 (NIV84)

18 John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them,

19 he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?”

20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?’ ”

21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.

22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

23 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me.”

1. God reveals Himself to those that seek Him

God is not difficult to find—He is everywhere

God is never lost—we have to have our eyes opened

The day I died—I have a few of those (Day He saved me, day I drowned)

I cried out to God

Prov 8:17 “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.”

He is an ever present help in time of need

Jer 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

You have to go all in

Since He is the One, you can leave all others

Give yourself completely to Him Ps 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

He knows what you need—delight in Him

Ps 34:4 “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”

No one can defeat our God

2. There is no other god like our God

Our God gets the capital letter, all other gods can’t stand against the Real One

Our God is able to do what other gods cannot do

Grown men will cry in the presence of the Almighty

Is 45:5 “I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,”

If He is not God, then there is no god

The only reason you can wake up is because He gives you the strength

He makes the sun rise on the just and the unjust

Ps 86:10 “For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.”

He created the heavens and the earth

The heavens declare the works of our God

Dt 32:39 “See now that I myself am He! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.”

He is the author of life—a little virus cannot do what God alone is able to do—life and death belong to Him and Him only

If He allowed you to be ill, He alone can Heal you

When you are truly in Him, no devil can pluck you out of His mighty hand

3. The proof is in the miracles

People don’t have to believe you—the proof is in the miracles

When John’s disciples asked are you the one, Jesus performed some miracles—the proof is in the miracles

Jesus told them, “Go tell John what you have seen and heard”—the proof is in the miracles

No one can argue with a miracle about miracles

All I know is that I was blind but now I see

Acts 4:14 “But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say.”

You Arise Church have been blessed to see miracles—the proof is in the miracles

Look at your neighbor—you are looking at a miracle in progress

People reported that Lazarus was dead—Jesus raised him from the dead

A dad reported that his son was possessed by demons—Jesus set him free

A woman had an issue of blood—Jesus healed her

A mother-in-law was deathly ill—Jesus healed her

A man in authority had a servant dying—Jesus said a word and He was healed

The wind was howling—Jesus silenced it

The waves were beating a boat—Jesus calmed them down

The proof is in the miracles

4. The proof is in the preaching of the Gospel

Preach Jesus to everyone

I must decrease, He must increase

Ac 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

This is the Gospel—Jesus is the only way

There is a peace that comes over those who belong to Jesus

There is a type of love that the world cannot match when you are in Jesus

The Gospel changes lives—the proof is in the Gospel

The Gospel is available to all—the proof is in the Gospel

Salvation is for everyone—Jesus died for everyone

Those that believe in Him are saved—the proof is in the Gospel

5. The proof is in a changed life

We are not of those that shrink back—we are bold for Jesus

Acts 4:13 “When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized that they had been with Jesus.”

You cannot be with Jesus and remain the same

Those that are in Jesus are changed

Your attitude changes

Your love changes

The way you treat people changes

The way you speak to people changes

The way you love your spouse changes

The way you love your children changes

The way you love your family changes

The way you love your church changes

The way you love your church family changes

There is a notable difference when you spend time with Jesus

Your face will remember that you have been with Jesus

Your actions will reveal that you have been with Jesus

Your worship will reveal that you have been with Jesus

Your submission will reveal that you have been with Jesus

Your obedience will reveal that you have been with Jesus

The proof is in the result of your life
