John 15:1-11......
John 15:1-11......
The True Vine: Psalm 80:8 “Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: Thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.”
Isaiah 4:2 “In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely For them that are escaped of Israel.”
Isaiah 5:1 “Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:”
True Vine- I AM...........this another claim of diety!
Jesus is the source! Those Scriptures before state that through Israel will His glory be revealed.
Jesus is now that source, it is still through Israel but God’s Son!
God is the vinedresser- “pruner”
Hebrews 6:7-8 “For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.”
God will cut-off those that are dead and burn them, but those that are producing will He cut back to make even better fruit.
He will remove anything that will hinder fruit-bearing.
What is fruit??
Philippians 1:11 “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.”
Hebrews 12:11 “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.”
Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Pruning.....................Clean by the Word..........That is how we are pruned........
Ephesians 5:26 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”
1 Peter 1:22 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Abide------carries a meaning of “stay”........
We must stay in the source else wise we cannot survive!
Without Jesus we can do nothing!
If you do not stay in Christ, you will be thrown away and burned in the fire!
Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Ask whatever you wish........that is conditional.....only if we stay in our Source.......
Remember when we are made new (born again) our desires change, asking whatever we wish takes on a whole new meaning!
In Luke 11:1-4 “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples. And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.”
Matthew 6:9-13 “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
The joy of the “I AM” is in the fruitful believer........the fruitful believer’s joy is made full by remaining with the source and being fed to produce great fruit!
