I hear the sound of the stirings of revival
What happens ‘’’ IF my people”
2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT
14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.
Called by His Name - what a privilage
Have you ever stopped for a moment to understand the depth of that statement?
1. Humble Myself - letting go of what I think I know.
not proud or haughty : not arrogant or assertive
reflecting, expressing, or offered in a spirit of deference or submissiona humble apology
ranking low in a hierarchy or scale : INSIGNIFICANT, UNPRETENTIOUS
not costly or luxurious
James 4:1–10 NLT
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.
2. Pray - Humility in action
The praying person understands their inability and recognises God’s ability.
Prayer that has come as the result of a deeply-felt need.
Prayer that is marked by a Spirit-born intensity.
Prayer that is linked with wholehearted obedience.
Prayer that is accompanied by a child-like faith.
Prayer that is offered with a God-glorifying motive.
3. Seek His face
Seek - attempt to find (something). Attempt or desire to obtain or achieve (something). Ask for (something) from someone.
He really must be the the very one your heart desires
Seeking Him means intentionally setting aside time to meet with Jesus
Mark 4:24–25 NLT
24 Then he added, “Pay close attention to what you hear. The closer you listen, the more understanding you will be given—and you will receive even more. 25 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.”
Booked a cabin out in the wilderness - because we are desperate to meet with Jesus in a completely deeper way.
4. Turn - Repentance
Making a concious decision to turn 180 degrees and go in the other direction
Acts 3:19–20 NLT
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.
God will hear us - Sin hinders prayer
Psalm 66:18 NLT
18 If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.
God will help us -
God will heal us
