More Alive Now

One of the things that we as Christians must learn is to celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have transitioned to the heavenly realm. We say things to the family like: "I'm so sorry to hear about________ passing." Or, "I'm so sad for your loss." And, "You have my condolences." Now don't get me wrong these things are appropriate to say. And there really appropriate when an unbeliever has passed. But when a Christian passes it’s even more appropriate to say what Jesus said to when he came to visit Mary and Martha as they were grieving over their brother, Lazarus. Jesus didn't say how sad or sorry he was or even offer condolences or sympathy. Jesus celebrated Lazarus’ place in the family of God and spoke of him as still alive! He said to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the Life. The one who believes into me will live even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." When the body of a believer dies the soul transitions into heaven, into the very presence of God and keeps on living with God in heaven! Seriously! Believers never die! So this morning we set look great your mother and your grandmother's homecoming with you! We rejoice with you that they have finished their race well! And that is yours' and our reassurance that your grandmother and mother are safe in the arms of Jesus now and forever!
