Good morning, friends, we’re so glad you have tuned in to hear God’s Precepts and Promises this morning brought to you by the Rome Church of Christ.

Q: What does it mean to be born of the water and the Spirit (Jn 3:5)?
A: To be born of the water and the Spirit is to experience the New Birth (Jn 3:5). Not a reference to two baptism, water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism, for there is only 1 today. Entrance into the kingdom depends on two items—hearing the Spirit’s Words and obeying them in water baptism. This is seen in the several parallel accounts
1 Pet 1:22-23 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
Mark 16:16 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Eph 5:26 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”
G.C. Baptism H. S. Baptism
4. For the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).
4. To reveal the truth that salvation is for both Jew and Gentile, and to confirm it by miracles (Acts 2, 10).
G.C. Baptism H. S. Baptism
5. Unto the end of the world (Matt. 28:18-20).
5. Ended about A.D. 40-41 (Eph. 4:4-6).
G.C. Baptism H. S. Baptism
6. Miracles are not necessary to carry out this command (Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 8:26-39).
6. Miracles which could be seen and heard accompanied this promise (Acts 2:1-4,16-21, 33).
Have you submitted to the one baptism of the Great Commission?
