The Beast that Comes from the Abyss, Revelation 17:8
“The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. And those who dwell on the earth, whose name has not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will wonder when they see the beast, that he was and is not and will come.
The Abyss is the Holding Cell for Fallen Spirit Beings, Luke 8:31
They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss.
Satan will be Bound to the Side of the Pit within the Abyss, Revelation 20:1-3
Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
Jerusalem is Specifically Identified as the City, Revelation 11:8
Revelation 11:8
And their bodies upon the street of the great city, which is called spiritual Sodom and Egypt, where also the Lord was crucified.
Sodom
Impious, 2 Peter 2:6
and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter;
Perversion, Jude 7
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
Egypt
They did not believe, Jude 5
Now I desire to remind you, though you know all things once for all, that the Lord, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe.
They did not continue in God’s covenant, Hebrews 8:9
Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers
On the day when I took them by the hand
To lead them out of the land of Egypt;
For they did not continue in My covenant,
And I did not care for them, says the Lord.
Enslavement, Genesis 15:13-14
God said to Abram, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years.
“But I will also judge the nation whom they will serve, and afterward they will come out with many possessions.
Idolaters, Exodus 12:12; Acts 7:40-43
‘For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the Lord.
saying to Aaron, ‘Make for us gods who will go before us; for this Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt—we do not know what happened to him.’
“At that time they made a calf and brought a sacrifice to the idol, and were rejoicing in the works of their hands.
“But God turned away and delivered them up to serve the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, ‘It was not to Me that you offered victims and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, was it, O house of Israel?
‘You also took along the tabernacle of Moloch and the star of the god Rompha, the images which you made to worship. I also will remove you beyond Babylon.’
Their Bodies will Not Be Allowed to be Buried, Revelation 11:9
Their Bodies will Not Be Allowed to be Buried, Revelation 11:9

The People - Those in the city
Typically Referring to the Jews, Romans 11:1 ; 1 Corinthians 10:7; 1 Corinthians 14:21
I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to play.”
In the Law it is written, “By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people, and even so they will not listen to Me,” says the Lord.
Can Refer to Those Who are Saved, Hebrews 10:29; Hebrews 13:12
How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people through His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
The Tribes - Israel
Tongues - Those among the nations speaking in other languages
Nations - Gentiles

And after the three and a half days, a breath of life out from God entered into them and they stood upon their feet and great fear fell upon the ones watching them. And they heard a great voice out from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” and they ascended into the heaven in the cloud and their enemies watched them.
A Breath of Life
There are Two Passages that Use Spirit and Life together, but not in the same way, Romans 8:6; Romans 8:10
For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,
If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Spirit is often used for breath, Luke 23:46; 2 Thessalonians 2:8
Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming;
And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last.
