Message 1
No Condemnation
No Condemnation
Romans 8:1-4
Me:
I am a sinner
I am a sinner
But I’m not alone
Listen to what David said about himself
5 I have sinned and done wrong since the day I was born.
The same is true of me
Because of sin
I am born in bondage to pain, disease, and death
22 We know that all creation is still groaning and is in pain, like a woman about to give birth.
Because of sin
My soul has been cursed
10 But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.”
Because of sin
My soul is damned to hell
14 Then Death and Hell were hurled into Lake Fire. This is the second death—Lake Fire.
We:
The bad news
The bad news
So are you
So are you
i. You’re a sinner also
10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.
Sin’s effects on us.
Man is not simply influenced by sin but is completely overpowered by it.
No one can escape that dominance by his own effort.
Sin is a defiling disease that corrupts every person
Degrades every individual
Disquiets (worries) every soul
It steals peace and joy from the heart
It replaces that peace and joy with trouble and pain
Sin is implanted in every human life
Its deadly force brings a universal corruption that no man can cure
6 We are all infected and impure with sin. When we put on our prized robes of righteousness, we find they are but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves we fade, wither, and fall. And our sins, like the wind, sweep us away.

“In Christ Jesus”
“In Christ Jesus”
There are four realities for those are in Christ Jesus
No Condemnation
No Condemnation
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
We have been set free from the curse of sin
God’s provision of salvation came not through Christ’s perfect teaching or through His perfect life but through His perfect sacrifice on the cross.
c.
Its purpose, justification
Its purpose, justification
1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
Because sin has so corrupted us (law of sin and death)
The only way we can be found righteous before a holy God
It is nothing you did
It is nothing you can do
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Christ became our substitute
Christ became our substitute
3 For what the law could not do since it was weakened by the flesh, God did. He condemned sin in the flesh by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering,
We have failed to keep the “law”
God sent to the son in our place
15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
He became our sin offering
All the wrath God has stored up against sin was poured out on Jesus on the cross
8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.
The result of the cross is our sanctification
The result of the cross is our sanctification
4 So now we can obey God’s laws if we follow after the Holy Spirit and no longer obey the old evil nature within us.
Day by day moment by moment
We do not live under law
We live under grace
You are under new management
You are under new management
You:
Living under Grace
Living under Grace
Can we sin and God just give more grace?
1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace?
2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it?
It is also important to realize that deliverance from divine condemnation does not mean deliverance from divine discipline.
6 It’s the child he loves that he disciplines; the child he embraces, he also corrects.
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.
Just imagine:
Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace
How sweet the sound
Everyone gets a second chance
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
