Main Point: Stand firm and defend the faith.
We cannot stand firm in what we have not once stood weak in.
I’ve shared this before, but it was a huge moment in my teenage years.
(story of Coach calling my name)
In my first year of college, in a class called “Issues in Christian Theology,” I asked my professor about a verse that didn’t exist in scripture.
It was embarrassing, but by the end of my time with Dr. Pate, I was afforded the opportunity to give input on his commentary on Romans.
I needed to be weak, before I could grow stronger in my understanding of God’s Word.
Before we can be strong, we have to reveal our weakness and build upon it.
We cannot stand firm in what we have no once stood weak in.
I want to tell you about a story of a man who showed himself weak, built strength, and then stood firm.
What it meant to them:
Paul revealed his weakness.
Paul stood firm.
Paul defended his faith.
What it means to us:
We should reveal our weakness.
We should stand firm.
We should defend our faith.
If we are given the stage, let’s stand for Christ.
Main Point: Stand firm and defend the faith.
Paul said: Acts 22:1
What would you say?
If given the opportunity to defend your faith and the faith, what would you say?
Gospel Response:
Have you been silent about Christ and loud about other ‘gods?’
Write out your testimony.
Write out a defense of the gospel.
Share it with one person.
