Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 KJV 1900
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; A time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; A time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; A time of war, and a time of peace.
Solomon paints a picture of every season we live in, telling us that each season has a purpose.
Time of life and a time of death
Time to plant and a time to harvest
Time to kill (war) and a time to heal
Time to tear down and a time to build
Time to weep and a time to laugh
Time to remove stones and a time to gather them
Time to embrace and a time not to
Time to get and a time to give
Time to keep and a time to give away
Time to rip and a time to sew
Time to be quiet and a time to speak
Time to love and a time to hate
Time of war and a time of peace
He was telling us that to every specific moment, there is a time or season that CANNOT BE MISSED!
We all know people that seem to wonder through life with no real purpose.
CHURCHES CAN BE THE SAME!
No purpose.
No awareness as a church body of God wants to do.
A kind of clueless existence of hopefulness...
This was how the Jews were living in Jesus’ day.
By the time that Jesus was born, they were consumed with the Messiah coming.
They praying every morning, noon and night for the Messiah.
They greeted each other by saying “When the Messiah comes!”.
They said goodbye to each other by saying “When the Messiah comes!”.
Yet they somehow completely missed him when he walked with them!
Twice in the Gospels Jesus is recored saying, Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem, killer of prophets! How many times I would have like to have gathered you like a hen gathers her chicks, but you would not!
In Luke 19:42 Jesus prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem because they did not recognize him when he came!
Even Satan and the Princes of this World did not recognize Him!
1 Corinthians 2:8 KJV 1900
Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The light came, was rejected.
Within 100 years after Jesus, false doctrine began to erode truth.
Within 300 years, the church was apostate (apóstata).
Within 1,000 years, the church was unrecognizable from the Book of Acts.
At times beginning in 1,500’s light began to shine
Each time extinguished before full revelation.
Then in the early 1,900’s God began to pour himself out on people.
Full revelation comes
But a century later many churches have seemed to fall asleep.
Little passion for His purpose.
Complacent in there relationship with God as individuals and going through the motions as churches.
NOW is the time!
A week and a half ago I taught on a Wednesday night about what the Russia/Ukraine situation could lead to.
Since then, Russia has invaded and is already talking about nuclear warfare!
We have entered the season of the end!
If you have fallen asleep in God!
If you are complacent!
If our churches are not passionate...
Not is the time!
There is a saying: Timing in everything!
Entering into a time of revival!
Time to make yourself known to your neighbors, family and friends
NOW IS THE TIME FOR WAR!
Not of men, guns and bombs...
It is a time to pick up our bibles and change our worlds!
Time to look to the harvest!
A time to get off your knees, and into the harvest!
