FOCUS
“Romance starts when you sink in his arms & it ends with your arms in the sink.”
That’s a humorous attempt to make the point that the way you’re thinking or hoping something will go may not be at all connected to how it’s actually going to play out.
Of course when it’s God leading the way, whatever happens that wasn’t on our agenda or that makes us sometimes wonder if this really was the best choice (see John 6:68 - an expression of loyal desperation) becomes something that eventually strengthens our resolve to “follow Jesus, no turning back.”
When this life is over, we will have exactly zero regrets for having stayed true to the will of God.
Nothing matters more than know & loving & serving God by knowing, loving & serving others.
The Commitment In Response to the Call to Follow Jesus …
1. results in a positive, productive & powerful perseverance.
The initial decision can be made without a commitment, but it cannot be sustained.
Luke 8:4-13
2. keeps calling for all you are, everything you have & the best you can be.
“All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give.”
Philippians 3:12-14 / 1 Timothy 6:11-14
Making It Real
1] Does this continue to describe you?
2] Is “all to Jesus I surrender” your daily default?
Action Step
Ask God for the grace to acknowledge & deal with anything what would hinder
your passion & ability to keep walking with Jesus in a fully surrendered way.
