LOSE IT OR GAIN IT.
The was a story of a house owner, who give a stranger half of his house to stay inMatthew 16:25 KJV 1900
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
Life is the opposite of death, but in context to text is not limited to, the ability of our senses or the energy within us but it's the decisions and the standard we live by.
Our Lord was using this statement to establish the fact that to live live is the matter of choice. He was preparing the church for tougher times to come.
If we deny our heavenly to save our earthly life, we will lose it.
2.The three desires of this world1 John 2:16 KJV 1900
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
The lust of the flesh is the human nature dominated sin of the senses. it includes greed, being slave to pleasures...
lust of the eye:
we desire what we see. it is the primary avenue of temptations. See a car, must have it...
Pride of life:
it is an arrogant spirit of self-sufficiency. it seeks attention from man.
Suffering:
Revelation 2:10 KJV 1900
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
3.
Sacrifice the things that matters to you:
Matthew 19:21 KJV 1900
Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Part 3
Matthew 5:30 KJV 1900
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
Acts 21:10–11 KJV 1900
And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.
