1. The wicked ruler
a. The people are miserable. Proverbs 29:2; Proverbs 12:10
Proverbs 29:2 NKJV
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.
Proverbs 12:10 NKJV
A righteous man regards the life of his animal, But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
i. Lockdowns, Quarantine hotels, Curfews, mandatory masks, mandatory vaccines, etc.
b. Evil laws are enacted. Isaiah 10:1; Ecclesiastes 7:7
Isaiah 10:1 NKJV
“Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed
Ecclesiastes 7:7 NKJV
Surely oppression destroys a wise man’s reason, And a bribe debases the heart.
i. Vaccine passports
“Yes, we will get out of this pandemic by vaccination. We all know people who are a little bit hesitant. We will continue to try and convince them, but there are also people who are fiercely against vaccination,” said Trudeau.
“[They] who don’t believe in science, they’re often misogynists, also often racists. It’s a small group that muscles in, and we have to make a choice in terms of leaders, in terms of the country. Do we tolerate these people? Or do we say, hey, most of the Quebecois people – 80% – are vaccinated. We want to come back to things we like doing. It’s not those people who are blocking us.”
ii. Can’t cross the border without a vaccine.
1. Truckers exercised their right to peaceful protest.
2. Trudeau responds “The small fringe minority of people who on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that they’re expressing, do not represent the views of Canadians who have been there for each other, who know that following the science and stepping up to protect each other is the best way to continue to ensure our freedoms, our rights, our values as a country,” Trudeau said about his countrymen.
3. People rallied to support the protest, raising over 8 million dollars, twice!
iii. Emergency Act Ecclesiastes 5:8
Ecclesiastes 5:8 NKJV
If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official watches over high official, and higher officials are over them.
1. Effectively declaring war on his own people.
2. Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said, “This is about following the money.” They have frozen bank accounts with no due process.
3. They cancelled Parliament’s debate on the Emergency Act.
a. Previous day Trudeau embarrassed himself by saying to a Jewish member of parliment, "Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas. They can stand with people who wave the Confederate flag," he said, defending the government's decision to invoke the Emergencies Act to quell unrest in the nation's capital.
"We will choose to stand with Canadians who deserve to be able to get to their jobs, to be able to get their lives back. These illegal protests need to stop, and they will."
4. Trudeau sent the Canadian Federal Police to violently attacked people who were not violent.
2. A humble leader. 2 Samuel 16:5-14
2 Samuel 16:5–14 NKJV
Now when King David came to Bahurim, there was a man from the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei the son of Gera, coming from there. He came out, cursing continuously as he came. And he threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David. And all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left. Also Shimei said thus when he cursed: “Come out! Come out! You bloodthirsty man, you rogue! The Lord has brought upon you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned; and the Lord has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son. So now you are caught in your own evil, because you are a bloodthirsty man!” Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please, let me go over and take off his head!” But the king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? So let him curse, because the Lord has said to him, ‘Curse David.’ Who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’ ” And David said to Abishai and all his servants, “See how my son who came from my own body seeks my life. How much more now may this Benjamite? Let him alone, and let him curse; for so the Lord has ordered him. It may be that the Lord will look on my affliction, and that the Lord will repay me with good for his cursing this day.” And as David and his men went along the road, Shimei went along the hillside opposite him and cursed as he went, threw stones at him and kicked up dust. Now the king and all the people who were with him became weary; so they refreshed themselves there.
a. Willing to endure cursing.
b. Protected the man who spoke against him.
c. Appealed to God for justice.
3. A perfect leader.
a. Endured affliction from His enemies. 1 Peter 2:21-25
1 Peter 2:21–25 NKJV
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: “Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth”; who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
b. Endured affliction for His enemies. Romans 5:7-10
Romans 5:7–10 NKJV
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
c. Reconciles us to God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
2 Corinthians 5:17–21 NKJV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Closing Thought
How do you lead? Do you oppress those under your leadership? Do you love those who come against you? Do you practice humility?
How do you follow? Do you go along when the leader is doing wrong? Are you willing to suffer for righteousness? Are you humble towards those who have made mistakes?
Are you seeking to divide or reconcile? Proverbs 17:9
Proverbs 17:9 NKJV
He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.
