Why Worldview? (Truth in Love)

INTRODUCTION:

Our Worldview is what we believe most, and is visible by the way that we live. Our Worldview is the story that answers who we are, why we exist, and what we are supposed to do.

Ephesians 4:11–16 (CSB)

11 And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. 14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit. 15 But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head—Christ. 16 From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.

We are called to speak the Truth in Love.

Truth in Love is Knowledge in Action.

Knowledge: Understanding the story of the Gospel. Understanding who God is. Understanding of what God is calling us to.

Speaking Truth in Love has different methods, but is the same message. (So What?)

We all are called to put on the Armor of God, but we are not all called to be pastors.

Actions speak as louder than words.

This doesn’t mean we don’t speak up, but our words should be an overflow of the lives that we are living.

God wants for you to commit to the process, and step up to the challenge. (Now What?)

CONCLUSION:

Are you speaking the Truth in Love?

Do you understand the Gospel?

Are you living a life surrendered to Jesus?

How do others see you?

The "Big Ask" - tell the congregation that you expect a response to the truth of the text.
