TEACH ME YOUR PATHS

SLIDE 1 “TEACH ME YOUR PATHS” slide image
Last week the Lord showed us how The Father and Holy Spirit reveals to us who Jesus really is. He is the Christ, the Son of the Living God
As we saw in Matthew 16:18, the question Jesus asked His disciples, “who do people say that I am?’ **Read next bullet point**
SLIDE 2
1 John 4:2 NASB95
2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God;
1 John chapter 4 says it perfectly that the spirit that confesses Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, by this we know the Spirit of God
SLIDE 3
1 John 4:2 The Message
2 Here’s how you test for the genuine Spirit of God. Everyone who confesses openly his faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God, who came as an actual flesh-and-blood person—comes from God and belongs to God.
Check out the same passage from The Message bible, really brings in more revelation to the passage and what its saying “The one who openly confesses Jesus, that He came in flesh and is the Son of God” **The key here openly confessing Jesus **
Again the example of the process of spiritual revelations, this is our first revelation from the Father and Spirit.
The church is built and continues being built from this initial revelation in each of us the true revelation of Jesus Christ
That all said is what put us on the key passage in 1 Peter 2 verse 4 that as coming to Jesus as to a living stone, we also are living stones being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood and offering spiritual sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ.
You see the process
SLIDE 4
REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST TO US BRINGS.....
*Opening confess Jesus Christ
*We have His Spirit / we belong to God
*Like living stones being built up (the church)
*Spiritual house / Holy priesthood / spiritual sacrifices

Psalm 25:4 NASB95
4 Make me know Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.
We see the spiritual process the Father has for us in that He also gave us His Son and His Holy Spirit.....we could also call this sanctification
Takes Notes or picture on your phone
SLIDE 6
......ON TO SANCTIFICATION
*Confessing Christ / belong to God (The Father)
*We the church being built up (spiritual house)
*Jesus teaching His paths / know His ways
what is significant to us about knowing His ways and taught His path? Inheriting the Kingdom
SLIDE 7
TAUGHT HIS PATHS / KNOW HIS WAYS.....
*Inheriting The Kingdom of God
What does that look like, what examples can describe inheriting the Kingdom of God. I thought it means I’m saved and just going to heaven someday.
A great starting point to make a comparison or example would be Egypt
The next great point would be in the Lord’s prayer
SLIDE 8
Matthew 6:10 NASB95
10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.
When did His kingdom come? Who announced it?
Repentance receiving Christ was our first step on His path and to His ways
SLIDE 9
Colossians 1:13 (NASB95)
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
We see the path developing to His inheritance
Next key point to inheriting the kingdom is through His teaching , which grows us and the kingdom
SLIDE 10
TAUGHT HIS PATHS / KNOW HIS WAYS.....
*Inheriting The Kingdom of God
*Growing the Kingdom of God
Jesus taught in parable that His kingdom would be growing (the kingdom of God is likened to........ the mustard seed / the man scattering seeds and the plants grow and ready for the harvest, the parable of the kingdom being like a treasure hidden in the field, a man found it but hid it again and sold all he had to buy it
17 times in the 4 gospels -Jesus parable teaching on what the kingdom of God is likened to
Last important point of being taught His Paths and Know His Ways...
SLIDE 11
TAUGHT HIS PATHS / KNOW HIS WAYS.....
*Inheriting The Kingdom of God
*Growing the Kingdom of God
*Enduring and faithful to journey home
What steps can I take in knowing His ways and taught His paths
What are the steps I can take to stay on the path to inheritance
SLIDE 12
JOURNEY TO KINGDOM INHERITANCE
*Humble yourself before the Lord
Take time to reflect on where you have been and the Lords mercy and goodness towards us
SLIDE 13
Psalm 25:8–9 (NASB95)
8 Good and upright is the Lord;
Therefore He instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in justice,
And He teaches the humble His way.
second point for our journey to His inheritance
SLIDE 14
JOURNEY TO KINGDOM INHERITANCE
*Humble yourself before the Lord
*Stay in His love and truth
Remind yourself of God’s love for you, seek the truth in His word and listen for truth in His voice of Holy Spirit (meditation with the Lord)
SLIDE 15
Psalm 25:10–11 (NASB95)
10 All the paths of the Lord are lovingkindness and truth
To those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
Our last key point for staying on the journey to inheritance
SLIDE 16
JOURNEY TO KINGDOM INHERITANCE
*Humble yourself before the Lord
*Stay in His love and truth
*Fear the Lord
One of the first verses in Proverbs is the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, wisdom, discernment, instruction and skill
SLIDE 17
Psalm 25:12–13 (NASB95)
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord?
He will instruct him in the way he should choose.
13 His soul will abide in prosperity,
And his descendants will inherit the land.
fear is this passage is described as reverence and respect towards a superior, and worship
So we have seen in God’s word to stay humble, stay in His love, always fear the Lord
