G-R-O-W
15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church.
When we are forgiven and cleansed - we start growing spiritually!
As Believer's - not matter what age - we must continue to grow
G= Grace
18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
Grace means - undeserved favor, grace means kindness, grace means mercy, and grace means forgiveness
God gives us his grace as children so that we can grow in grace and give grace to others
5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
See our needs are supplied and the blessings we receives are because of God’s Grace
7 So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
As believers we grow in grace by emulating Jesus Christ! We grow when we continue to display kindness, compassion, forgiveness and helpfulness
R in Grow means Reliance
21 We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.
As believers, when we depend on our own strength to handle problems and issues and concerns! Many times we fail!
Our abilities are finite! But God’s infinite power never fails!
So to grow we must rely on GOD for everything
As we model Jesus we become more stable and steadfast! The more we become like Jesus the more reliable we become to God and to each other
Today, like never before as believers we need to rely on the strength of Jesus!
7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
We can rely on him!
O In Grow = Obedience
2 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment,
In order for us to grow - God’s will must become our will! If we follow our own will, or the will of others instead of God’s will - can we rely claim to be God’s Child!
God’s Word reveals his will! God will enable each of us to perform his will when we believe and act upon his directions and promises!
As believer’s we must desire God’s word - to do God’s will!
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Finally
The W- Grow = Wisdom
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Glory be to him now and forever! Amen.
If we stop growing, stop reading the word of God, Stop Praying , Stop worshipping, stop praising - it will limit what you can do for the kingdom of God!
It will limit your ability to reach out to others for Jesus Christ
It will limit your ability to be helpful to others
It will limit your ability to have compassion and to hear from God
As believer’s we have a promise - the promise is wisdom
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Wise Believer’s - Wise Christians glorify God and are a blessing to others!
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
To close this out as believer’s we must continue
