As we continue in Romans this morning…

Today we are going to be in Chapter 8:12-17

Next week: Chapter 8:18-30… The Holy Spirit’s Ministries

AND NOW we are learning to Live the Gospel!

We don’t grow beyond the Gospel… We live IN and THROUGH the Gospel! There is NEVER a moment that we don’t desperately NEED the Gospel!

The Gospel is not ABOUT you, but it is for you.

Why is Romans Important? It is Informational, Inspirational & Instructional as per our understanding and response to Sin & the Gospel! Treatise on The Gospel

2 Things I pray you will take away from today:

The Unstoppable Power of the Gospel of Jesus! That Gospel is for YOU!

AND… We will stand on God’s Word with complete CONFIDENCE all while loving a lost world with great COMPASSION… Sometimes the most compassionate thing we can do for someone, is tell them the truth.

But our words should NEVER intentionally get in the way of HIS WORD. Amen?

12 So then, brothers and sisters, we are not obligated to the flesh to live according to the flesh,

13 because if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die. But if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

14 For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons.

15 For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. Instead, you received the Spirit of adoption,

by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”

16 The Spirit himself testifies together with our spirit

that we are God’s children,

17 and if children, also heirs — heirs of God and coheirs with Christ — if indeed we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him.

This is the WORD of the LORD! Thanks be to God!

I am going to give you a simple step by step application…

Repent! & Believe in Christ Jesus alone!

Acts 3

19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out,

20that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send Jesus, who has been appointed for you as the Messiah.

to change one's mind, i.e. to repent to change one's mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one's past sins
